- Family Leadership Academy
-
The Family
Leadership Academy is a series of interactive classes for family members and
caregivers aimed at developing the skills necessary for effective
participation at the policy level on boards and committees. The six
two-hour sessions focus on public speaking, meeting facilitation, board
member responsibilities, advocacy, interpretation of financial reports, etc.
These services are offered free of charge to family groups with a focus on
children and youth's emotional and behavioral health.
Although originally designed to train
parents and caregivers of children and youth with emotional and behavioral
health needs, we have many requests to offer this service and these
materials to a larger audience--adult and youth consumers as well as agency
and organization personnel. The materials are easily adapted.
